My go then stop kid & what I learned from his homemade milkshake

I have two kids. One is an extreme Stop Life Lens™ and 1 is an extreme Go Life Lens™.   Funny how such different kids came out of the same uterus.

Click here for what I learned from my Stop Lens kid. Today’s post is about what I recently learned from my Go Lens kid.

My Go Go Go Lens kid is all about jumping in with his whole body, without restraint, without pause.  He’s a pro at trying things, embracing new opportunities.

He’s a do’er.

While it can be tough to get him to pause at times there’s nothing he won’t try … with enthusiasm and grace.

Yesterday he had some friends over and he made milkshakes for all.  I don’t know about you but my recipe for a milkshake goes something like this:

  • blend ice cream + milk + 1 or 2 flavours (e.g. chocolate sauce or strawberries) = yummy concoction.

Nope, not his.  Here’s his recipe, straight from the horse’s mouth:

  • blend ice cream + syrup + cream + avocados (we’re just getting started) + soda water + banana + apple + milk + hot chocolate mix + a little hot sauce = yummy concoction à la my Go Lens kid.

Did it taste good to me?  Doesn’t matter.

He sets a great example, one that all Go Life Lenses™ do, about trying things, without fear of mistakes or reprisals.

Sounds like a recipe for ramped up creativity to me, something we and most organizations can all use.
