The other day I overheard someone talking about ‘fomo.’ Another new acronym? My ears perked up.

The urban dictionary defines fomo as: “fear of missing out”.

The fear that if you miss a party or event you will miss out on something great
Even though he was exhausted, John’s fomo got the best of him and he went to the party.

It made me stop in my tracks.  Fear of missing out?  Fear from fitting in?  Fear of being left out?  Lots going on there.

A Carrot Life Lens™ might fear missing details.  A Mountain Life Lens™ might fear missing out on a trend.

A Heart Life Lens™ may fear offending someone while a Head Life Lens™ might fear missing key info.

A Journey Life Lens™ could be afraid of not stopping to smell the proverbial roses while a Destination Life Lens™ could get anxious over not achieving their goal.

A Stop Life Lens™ may be afraid of taking a rash decision while a Go Life Lens™, or fomo central, may fear missing out on a great opportunity.

At any rate it’s a great perspective depending on your view.
