The She’ros journey

June 9th, 2011

The invitation caught my attention, perked my digits to respond.  It was a call to journey, journey to the heart.  It came via email:

How  are you stepping into your shero’s journey these days?

Warts, challenges, glories, uncertainties, holy visions – all welcome!   Today, current, right now – that’s what I’m interested in.

What do I mean by s-hero’s journey? How you are claiming your power, trusting it, and use it to transform the world right now?

How you are responding – through your work or spiritual practice or relationships  – to the current crisis in the world?

I know many of you have devoted your life to this work – but what’s current, what’s real, what’s happening for you right now? Feeding the hummingbirds, starting a movement, giving a TED talk, whatever.. give other women a glimpse.

The way you stepping up may be very small, cracked, imperfect- perfect!!

The She’ros journey is a compilation of the responses to the magnificent Jen Louden’s invitation (check out yours truly’s contribution on page 15 and Dyana Valentine’s on page 7).

Is it different than the Hero’s journey?

You be the judge.

I sold my soul

June 7th, 2011

I sold my soul.

I sold my soul in New York City.

I’m still selling my soul.

I will always sell my soul.

Perspective.  It’s a tricky thing.  It’s an intriguing thing.  It can be a brick wall or a wide open window.  The number one hit on ‘selling your soul’ is selling your soul to Satan- a how to guide.

Nah uh.  NO way.

Here’s what I mean by selling my soul.

I make my living doing what I love – helping people laugh, learn and lead by expanding and enhancing perspectives.

How do you look at the world?

Are you selling your soul?  I hope so.

Spontaneous heartfelt Jen Louden

June 2nd, 2011

Spontaneous and heartfelt is how I’d describe the fabulous Jen Louden.

I was listening to her on a teleseminar recently.  In an inspired moment of brilliance she said, describing herself,  I shoot from the hip and the heart.

Flashbulbs went off for me.

It’s a perfect combination of Go Life Lensâ„¢ and Heart Life Lensâ„¢.

Spontaneous, let’s go for it, let’s jump in can-do attitude combined with an ease with intuition and gut-knowing.

And you?  What’s your Life Lensesâ„¢ combo?

Posturing … with a moose

May 31st, 2011

Posturing = power dynamics + lack of awareness.

Posturing def’n = a particular way of behaving that is intended to convey a false impression. When someone is posturing they’re trying to hide how they feel inside.

Posture + power = how we hold our body, how much (or how little) space we take up.  When we strike a pose with our posture we can convey a whole lot (or little) power.

Often when someone is posturing they’re acting out a perspective that doesn’t feel natural to them, a Life Lensâ„¢ that doesn’t fit so well.  A Go Life Lensâ„¢ trying to act more reflective or a Stop Life Lensâ„¢ trying to be spontaneous.

Watch how even a moose reacts to posturing and power.

Strike a pose.  Just don’t posture.
