Just do something. Motion is better than stasis. aka Danielle LaPorte

October 2nd, 2014

Desire MapJust do something.  Motion is better than stasis.  When you take action, you learn, you build skills, you get freer.  When you stay still because you’re afraid to make a move, your self-worth wanes, your doubts fester & breed more doubts, your courage atrophies.  It’s not pretty.  Suit up & head out.

Powerful words from good friend Danielle LaPorte, in her book The Desire Map.

Them’s Go Life Lensesâ„¢ words if I’ve ever heard ’em.

Whatcha waiting for?  Get going.

America’s not the greatest country in the world anymore – another (NSFW) perspective

If someone has to guess my passport country, I’m often taken for an American, which, no disrespect to my American friends, but it rankles my Canadian blood.

So I have to admit, I watched this video (a clip from a TV show) with a bit of a chuckle.

The United States is number one in three things: the number of adults who believe angels are real, defense spending & the number of incarcerated individuals.  Sobering.

Take a watch.  Enjoy a (new?) perspective.  This is a clip from the opening scene of HBO’s the Newsroom.

(Apologies for not embedding the video directly; it’s not allowed for some reason.)

That Lady From ‘Mad Men’ Tries To Work In A Modern Office And It Doesn’t Go So Well. At All.

I found this perspective changing video on the Upworthy sight.  Take a look & see how it changes your view.

If you are a fan of the show “Mad Men” (a show about the sexist culture of an advertising agency and the world at large in the late 1960s), you might be a huge fan of Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Holloway, the heart of the “Mad Men” team. Funny or Die decided to throw Joan into a modern office and see what happens. It gets awkward. It gets reaaaally awkward at around 1:30.
