What hurts more – childbirth or getting kicked in the balls?

November 6th, 2014

What hurts more
How hard is it for men to put themselves in women’s shoes (or uterus) while giving birth?  Pretty darn hard.

How hard is it for women to imagine what it feels like to get kicked in the balls?  Again, pretty difficult.

Yet the good folks at ASAPScience do just that- meanwhile helping us to understand ‘other,’ by stepping into the shoes (or uterus) of another’s perspective.

Now that’s pretty darn cool.

I didn’t pay attention to times or distance … says Sarah Dessen via Africa Yoga Project

October 30th, 2014

Africa Yoga Project“I didn’t pay attention to times or distance, instead focusing on how it felt just to be in motion, knowing it wasn’t about the finish line but how I got there that mattered.” – Sarah Dessen.

A wonderfully crafted, beautifully expressed Journey Life Lensâ„¢ sentiment if there ever was one.

OK Go’s – The Writing’s on the Wall

October 16th, 2014

OK Go

OK Go is a fabulous example of a band that breaks the rules & makes new ones.

A music video with choreographed treadmills?  They’ve done it.  Marsh monsters coming out of hiding in the gonna-get-you-feeling-good-no-matter-your worst-day? Done in their ‘This too shall pass’ video.

I’m listening to said video with a big, sloppy grin on my face, as I write this.  So it wasn’t surprising that I perked right up when I heard about their latest video, ‘The Writing’s on the Wall.’

It plays with perspective, helping you see things in new ways, which, as you know, is a favourite topic of mine.  Check it out below.
